The ideas of Schleswig-Holstein companies are diverse when it comes to sustainable economic systems that conserve natural resources while promising growth.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Environment Minister Jan Philipp Albrecht kicked off his summer tour today under the motto &#8220;Green Economy&#8221;. Why? &#8220;Because in the face of climate change, one of the most pressing questions of our time is how to combine economy, ecology and society,&#8221; says the environment minister. &#8220;The green transformation of our economy is much more than a goal that lies in the distant future. It has long since arrived in Schleswig-Holstein&#8217;s entrepreneurship. The fact that we need to rethink &#8211; toward a more environmentally friendly and socially responsible economy &#8211; is one of the big lessons from the pandemic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>During his summer tour, Minister Albrecht, in whose department the topic of sustainability plays a major role, visited three newly founded GreenTec companies. The energy minister also made a stopover at the Bode freight forwarding company in Reinfeld: Here, the eHighway field trial has been scientifically investigating how to improve the carbon footprint of heavy goods traffic on the road since 2019. In addition, the long-established family business has built a photovoltaic system on an area of 6,000 square meters and obtains green electricity from 100 percent renewable sources. Like Spedition Bode and the young &#8220;Green Tec&#8221; companies Seegrashandel GmbH, Improving Earth GmbH and Superseven GmbH, quite a few companies in Schleswig-Holstein are already trying to bring people and the environment back into harmony.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The United Nations Environment Programme defines the Green Economy as an economy that leads to improved human well-being and social justice &#8211; while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities.
