FESH presents itself at ITS World Congress

HAMBURG. The ITS World Congress, the world’s largest event on intelligent transport systems, kicked off in Hamburg this week for the 27th time. From October 11-15, some 400 exhibitors will present at the annual show to discuss emerging topics in the field of smart mobility and provide insights into future technological advances. The eHighway Schleswig-Holstein (FESH) field trial is also included.

FESH will be presented as one of a total of eight projects at the booth of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. The first visitors were welcomed at the event kick-off (from right) by Markus Worbs, an employee of the Forschungs- und Entwicklungszentrum Fachhochschule Kiel GmbH, as well as Sandra Cuno, Stephan Kliewe and Jochen Specht from the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Labor, Technology and Tourism of the State of Schleswig-Holstein.

The ITS World Congress is a major meeting place for the mobility, logistics and digitization industry. Under the motto “Experience Future Mobility Now,” this year’s trade exhibition, an extensive conference program and live demonstrations will once again help visitors to experience the mobility of tomorrow.

In addition to the presentation of the eHighway Schleswig-Holstein field trial at the trade fair stand, project manager Jan Bachmann will report on the initial experience gained from operating the overhead line system in a presentation. In addition, Autobahn GmbH, as the plant operator of the eHighway, has organized an exclusive excursion to the test track between Reinfeld and Lübeck, which is ten kilometers long in total. The tour offers participants the opportunity to visit the eHighway from the fairgrounds by bus. A stop is also planned at the Bode freight forwarding company in Reinfeld, which operates the test route on Federal Highway 1 as a practical partner in daily shuttle operations.
