Farewell to interns from Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina
KIEL. With the end of the year, the FESH team of the Forschungs- und Entwicklungszentrum Fachhochschule Kiel GmbH says goodbye to two interns who participated in a scholarship program of the Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V. (Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations) aimed at young professionals from the countries of the Western Balkans. Every year, up to 75 students and graduates from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Croatia, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia are given the opportunity to complete a three- to six-month internship in Germany as part of the “Zoran Djindjic Scholarship Program”.
This year, the Forschungs- und Entwicklungszentrum Fachhochschule Kiel GmbH enabled two young graduates of mechatronic engineering from Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina to complete a six-month internship within the FESH project. The two young engineers were entrusted with the development of systems that will be used in the future to measure the overhead lines on the A1.
Erande Pira (22) had completed her studies at the University in Pristina (Kosovo) this year and started her internship at the FESH project in Kiel in July. “For me as a graduate, the scholarship was a unique opportunity to gain initial practical experience and contribute to technical problem solving – especially in a company in a country known for the highest standards in engineering,” she says. In addition, it was an exciting experience for the 22-year-old to get to know German culture.
