FESH at the State Representation in Berlin

BERLIN. Organized by the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Energy Transition (MEKUN) in conjunction with the State Ministry of Economics and Transport (MWVATT), a parliamentary evening on “Decarbonization of heavy road freight transport: overhead line technology as a part for the transport transition” will take place on 1 July 2024 at the State Representation in Berlin.

The technology has now proven itself in practice, and studies have shown its high efficiency, the associated positive environmental impact and also its economic potential.

To mark the good interim results from the three field trials in Germany, stakeholders from state and federal politics are meeting with industry, logistics and science to discuss the findings and future prospects for overhead line technology in heavy road freight transport.

Energy Transition Minister Tobias Goldschmidt will host the event. After presentations on the opportunities of overhead line technology from the perspective of research and logistics, a panel discussion is planned. The following will participate the panel discussion: Hartmut Höppner (State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs), Carmen Schmidt (Managing Director of Logistik-Initiative Hamburg), Dr. Jörg Salomon (DHL Deutsche Post AG), Philipp Franke (Head of Department at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport) and others (see agenda).

Industry and media representatives are requested to register.

Since 2019, the federally funded field trials have been running in regular forwarding operations and demonstrating the strengths and weaknesses of the system – scientifically evaluated under real conditions in public spaces.
