The eHighway in Schleswig-Holstein is operational

EHIGHWAY. On Thursday, December 05, 2019, the function of the system and its overhead line infrastructure could be confirmed by the R&D Center Kiel University of Applied Sciences GmbH and LBV.SH after a test run of almost two hours.

REINFELD. On 07 November 2019, representatives from research and industry met in Schleswig-Holstein to exchange cross-project findings on the topic of “overhead line-bound heavy truck traffic”.
Rectification work on the eHighway

KIEL. During the commissioning of the eHighway, a defect has been found in a fastening lug of a surplus cross beam/boom that has not been installed. As a precautionary measure, touch-up work on the booms took place until mid-September.
First test drives on the eHighway

EHIGHWAY. After the arrival of the first test truck on Monday, June 3, the vehicle was checked at the Bode forwarding company in Reinfeld and the pantograph was adjusted for the test runs.
Noise in the area of the eHighway

EHIGHWAY. Noise along the A1 has been an issue in the neighboring communities for years, and the burden of the highway on residents is undoubtedly high.
Salvage work on the eHighway

EHIGHWAY. As also reported in the local press, a passenger car crashed in the construction site of the eHighway on May 07, 2019. In the early morning hours, the driver apparently first overlooked the barrier at the entrance to the construction site and then collided with a parked construction vehicle.
Ongoing safety training for emergency responders on the eHighway.

EHIGHWAY. The rescue forces of the volunteer fire departments from Reinfeld and Bad Oldesloe as well as the Lübeck fire department were trained in April / May to be prepared for an operation on the eHighway in case of emergency.
